Super Bowl LI Prop Bet Extravaganza

Happy Super Bowl Week! Before we get to our full preview and predictions later this week, we wanted to do a special post just for for the Super Bowl prop bets. For those of you who are unaware, a prop bet is a side bet before/during/after the game that is separate from the final outcome/score.

SUPER BOWL 51 COIN TOSS ODDS

Heads -105

Tails -105

Nick Bair: Heads. I always go heads. Just a superstition.

Randy Haines: Heads. What he ^ said.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE LUKE BRYAN TO SING THE U.S. NATIONAL ANTHEM?

OVER 2:15 -120

UNDER 2:15 -120

NB: Under. This isn’t a diva. Luke will keep it short and sweet.

RH: Under. Don’t worry we will start disagreeing very shortly.

WHAT WILL LUKE BRYAN BE WEARING WHEN HE STARTS SINGING THE U.S. NATIONAL ANTHEM?

Blue jeans -200

Any other pants or shorts +150

NB: Blue Jeans. Your first lock of the night ladies and gents…unless of course he comes out rocking jorts.

RH: AOP. The first upset of the night! The more mainstream country singers get, the more they lose their roots (remember when Taylor Swift was country?) Luke Bryan shocks the world and comes out in black leather pants.

WILL LUKE BRYAN BE WEARING A HAT WHEN HE APPEARS ON SCREEN BEFORE SINGING THE U.S. NATIONAL ANTHEM?

Yes -120

No -120

NB: Hat. The guy loves hats. I saw Luke Bryan once in concert and he had a hat on, so anecdotally he always wears hats.

RH: No hat. I did a deep dive into Luke Bryan’s album covers. On his main album releases he is not wearing a hat, but on all of his “Spring Break” EP’s he is wearing a hat. It’s February, no spring break, no hat for Luke.

HALFTIME SHOW – WHICH SONG WILL LADY GAGA SING FIRST?

Born This Way +225

Bad Romance +250

Edge of Glory +600

Poker Face +1000

Just Dance +1000

Any Other Song +110

NB: AOS. I think ‘Born This Way’ has a shot, but GaGa has too many songs not to take AOS at +110. It also wouldn’t shock me if she did a cover song here.

RH: Edge of Glory. This is a fitting song for a sporting event and it’s getting decent odds. If you’re feeling bold like I am this is the way to go.

FIRST SCORING PLAY

Touchdown -165

Field Goal or Safety +135

NB: Field Goal or Safety. This game should be a shootout, so I expect the public to pick touchdown. However, there are an enormous amount of jitters in the Super Bowl, so I predict there will be a big red zone drop leading to a field goal on the opening drive.

RH: Touchdown. Normally with these odds FG or Safety would be the play, but not with these two teams. Get ready for all of the points.

TEAM TO SCORE FIRST IN THE GAME

New England Patriots -125

Atlanta Falcons -105

NB: Atlanta Falcons. Just smart money to take the Falcons. These teams are evenly matched, and you are getting better odds with Atlanta.

RH: Atlanta Falcons. We’re back on the same page with this one. ATL comes out hot on Sunday.

FIRST TOUCHDOWN SCORER

Julio Jones (ATL) +750

Devonta Freeman (ATL) +800

Julian Edelman (NE) +800

LeGarrette Blount (NE) +800

Tevin Coleman (ATL) +1200

Chris Hogan (NE) +1200

Dion Lewis (NE) +1200

Martellus Bennett (NE) +1200

Mohamed Sanu (ATL) +1400

Taylor Gabriel (ATL) +1600

James White (NE) +1800

Malcolm Mitchell (NE) +1800

Austin Hooper (ATL) +2200

Danny Amendola (NE) +2200

Tom Brady (NE) +2500

Matt Ryan (ATL) +2800

Justin Hardy (ATL) +3300

Levine Toilolo (ATL) +3300

Eric Weems (ATL) +6600

Joshua Perkins (ATL) +6600

Any Other Touchdown Scorer +550

NB: LeGarrette Blount. Blount had 18 touchdowns this season, more than any other player on this list. Feed the beast!

RH: Devonta Freeman. I expect the Pats to do everything in their power to keep Julio Jones in check and Freeman lead the Falcons with scoring the first touchdown of the game four times this season.

THE FIRST SCORE OF THE GAME – EXACT OUTCOME

Patriots Touchdown +175

Patriots Field Goal +325

Patriots Safety +3300

Falcons Touchdown +190

Falcons Field Goal +375

Falcons Safety +3300

NB: Falcons Field Goal. I think that big third down drop will be by a Falcons player. I also like getting the +375 compared to the +325 compared to the Pats.

RH: Falcons Touchdown. I’m putting everything on a Devonta Freeman touchdown to get this game started.

FIRST OFFENSIVE PLAY OF THE GAME

Run -150

Pass +120

NB: Pass. Both coaches will try to get their QBs in an early rhythm with an easy pass.

RH: Pass. Both of these teams throw the ball exceptionally well and both secondary’s are questionable at best.

ODDS TO WIN MVP

Tom Brady (NE) +160

Matt Ryan (ATL) +275

Julio Jones (ATL) +750

Julian Edelman (NE) +1200

LeGarrette Blount (NE) +2000

Field +2000

Dion Lewis (NE) +2500

Devonta Freeman (ATL) +2500

Chris Hogan (NE) +2500

Tevin Coleman (ATL) +3300

Vic Beasley (ATL) +3300

Mohamed Sanu (ATL) +4000

Logan Ryan (NE) +5000

Martellus Bennett (NE) +5000

Austin Hooper (ATL) +6600

Matt Bryant (ATL) +6600

Taylor Gabriel (ATL) +6600

Stephen Gostkowski (NE) +6600

James White (NE) +6600

Malcom Butler (NE) +6600

Devin McCourty (NE) +7500

Deion Jones (ATL) +10000

Dwight Freeney (ATL) +10000

Eric Weems (ATL) +10000

Keanu Neal (ATL) +10000

Danny Amendola (NE) +10000

Dont’a Hightower (NE) +10000

Malcolm Mitchell (NE) +10000

Patrick Chung (NE) +10000

Rob Ninkovich (NE) +10000

Levine Toilolo (ATL) +15000

Chris Long (NE) +15000

NB: Matt Ryan. I feel pretty strongly that one of the two QBs will win MVP. You are getting much better odds with Ryan over Brady. I think it’s a pretty solid bet at almost 3:1 odds.

RH: Tom Brady. We live in The United States of Brady.

WHO WILL THE SUPER BOWL MVP MENTION FIRST AFTER HE IS PRESENTED THE TROPHY?

Team/Teammates +200

Coach +900

Owner +900

God +200

Family +900

Donald Trump +2000

Does not mention any of the above +250

NB: Owner. Matt Ryan and Tom Brady seem quite cozy with their owners. Also, it’s always smart to mention the big boss after the game. In the Pats’ case, it would also really stick it to the commish. Tommy – please don’t let it be your golf buddy Trump. Let everyone get a break from politics for a night.

RH: Team/Teammates. It’s not always fun to take the favorite, but in this case there’s a reason it’s the favorite.

WHAT COLOR WILL THE LIQUID BE THAT IS POURED ON THE WINNING COACH?

Clear/Water +300

Lime/Green +300

Yellow +300

Orange +300

Red +500

Blue +750

Purple +1000

NB: Red. Everyone knows Red Gatorade is the best Gatorade. Don’t let the haters tell you otherwise.

RH: Clear/Water. I would rather dehydrate than drink red Gatorade.

ALTERNATE SPREAD

New England Patriots -21½ +900

New England Patriots -17½ +550

New England Patriots -14½ +400

New England Patriots -13½ +350

New England Patriots -10½ +275

New England Patriots -7½ +200

New England Patriots -6½ +160

New England Patriots +3½ -275

New England Patriots +6½ -350

New England Patriots +7½ -500

New England Patriots +10½ -700

New England Patriots +14½ -1200

Atlanta Falcons +21½ -1800

Atlanta Falcons +17½ -900

Atlanta Falcons +14½ -600

Atlanta Falcons +13½ -500

Atlanta Falcons +10½ -450

Atlanta Falcons +7½ -260

Atlanta Falcons +6½ -200

Atlanta Falcons -3½ +215

Atlanta Falcons -6½ +275

Atlanta Falcons -7½ +350

Atlanta Falcons -10½ +450

Atlanta Falcons -14½ +600

Tie/Falcons +1800

NB: Atlanta Falcons -6½. I think this has a decent shot at being a blowout if the Falcons’ offense continues its hot streak. If Atlanta wins, I think they win by scoring up and down the field. If you like +3 at -110, why not -6.5 at +275? Go Falcons! (Hope this didn’t spoil my game pick later this week too much)

RH: New England Patriots -6.5. I don’t feel great about this prop. I think the Pats win, but not sure if there is an alternate number I like enough to actually bet. Going with New England to win by a touchdown is usually a solid bet regardless.

WILL THE GAME GO TO OVERTIME?

Yes +750

No -1500

NB: No. A Super Bowl has never gone to OT. Keep riding that out.

RH: No. I see this being a close game, but also decided with about 3 minutes left.

WILL EITHER BRADY OR RYAN RECORD 415 OR MORE PASSING YARDS TO BREAK THE SUPER BOWL RECORD?

Yes +500

No -900

NB: Yes. These are solid odds at 5:1. Both of these teams can put up a lot of points on offense and move the ball. If one of these QBs gets rolling, 415 is not out of the question.

RH: No. Both teams will be able to run the ball enough to offset any chance of a huge air output.

WILL MATT RYAN WIN REGULAR SEASON MVP AND SUPER BOWL MVP?

Yes +300

No -500

NB: Yes. To piggyback on my Super Bowl MVP pick, why not pseudo parlay it with Regular Season MVP? My only worry is that Brady seeks revenge after seeing Ryan win the regular season MVP the day before the big game.

RH: No. It will be hard for Ryan to win Super Bowl MVP when Tom Brady’s name is already engraved on the trophy.

WHO WILL RECORD THE MOST RECEIVING YARDS IN THE GAME?

Julio Jones (ATL) +175

Julian Edelman (NE) +200

Chris Hogan (NE) +600

Taylor Gabriel (ATL) +750

Mohamed Sanu (ATL) +1000

Devonta Freeman (ATL) +1200

Martellus Bennett (NE) +1400

Tevin Coleman (ATL) +1600

Dion Lewis (NE) +1600

James White (NE) +1600

Austin Hooper (ATL) +2500

NB: Julio Jones. As much as I want to pick my fellow Penn Stater Chris Hogan, Julio is the pick here. I think he still gets his on Sunday and he is by far the best skill player in this game.

RH: Chris Hogan. Hogan has been on a roll as of late throw in the tasty +600 odds and with Belichick’s ability to take away the other team’s best player, this could be a run away.

WILL A SPECIAL TEAMS OR DEFENSIVE TD BE SCORED?

Yes +160

No -200

NB: No. Just a hunch. Both QBs will play well and limit turnovers.

RH: No. Neither team had a whole lot of success in returns this season and both QB’s are extremely careful with the football.

WILL A 2-POINT CONVERSION BE ATTEMPTED IN THE GAME?

Yes +110

No -150

NB: Yes. I’m surprised the odds are on the bettor’s side here. We have seen a ton of two point conversions this season and both of these offenses will want to be aggressive.

RH: Yes. Good odds plus the Falcons were in the top 10 in two point attempts this season.

IF THE PATRIOTS WIN, WILL BRADY, BELICHICK OR KRAFT BE SEEN SHAKING ROGER GOODELL’S HAND ON TV?

Yes -150

No +110

NB: Yes. As much as I would love to see them snub the commish, they will smile and shake his hand. Although the alternative would be hilarious.

RH: Yes. If this was all 3 I would say hell no, but since it’s just one you can bet Brady will do the honorable thing and shake Goodell’s hand while Kraft and Belichick wonder if anyone will notice if they pushed Goodell off the podium.

WHO WILL DONALD TRUMP PICK TO WIN THE GAME?

Patriots -500

Falcons +300

NB: Patriots. Trump loves Brady and Belichick. This is a lock and a half.

RH: Patriots. I can’t believe this is even on the board. Trump will pick New England.

HOW MANY TIMES WILL TRUMP BE SAID DURING THE LIVE BROADCAST?

Over 1.5 -120

Under 1.5 -120

NB: Under. This is purely a hope pick for all of our collective well beings.

RH: Under. No. Just no.

CROSS SPORT PROPS – WHAT WILL BE HIGHER SUPER BOWL SUNDAY?

Matt Ryan TD Passes -120

Total Goals scored in the Leicester vs ManU game -120

NB: Total Goals. This matchup has produced 3 and 5 goals the last two times they have played. If that high scoring continues, it’s a safer pick to go with the other futbol game.

RH: Total Goals. As good as Matty Ice has been all season I can’t see him throwing more than 3 touchdowns on Sunday.

CROSS SPORT PROPS – WHAT WILL BE HIGHER SUPER BOWL SUNDAY?

Sacks by the Falcons in the game -175

Alex Ovechkin Points +135

NB: Sacks by the Falcons. The Falcons averaged just over 2 sacks per game in the regular season and 2.5 per game in the playoffs. Ovie only averages about 1 point per game. So getting less than 2:1 odds for what seems to be 2:1 bet is pretty good money.

RH: Alex Ovechkin Points. I can see the Falcons really struggling to get to Brady and Ovechkin is always a candidate for a huge scoring game.

CROSS SPORT PROPS – WHAT WILL BE HIGHER ON SUPER BOWL SUNDAY?

Julio Jones Receptions -120

Kyle Lowry Assists -120

NB: Julio Jones Receptions. Kyle Lowry averages about 7 assists per game, so you have to figure Julio has to get that number. We have been hearing for years how Belichick likes to take the other team’s best weapon out of the game, so you are really betting that happens. I still think Julio gets his Sunday.

RH: Kyle Lowry Assists. This could blow up in my face if the Falcons fall behind early and start force feeding the ball to Julio. However I think the Pats do keep Julio in check and Lowry has the good fortune of going up against a terrible Nets team.

CROSS SPORT PROPS – WHAT WILL BE HIGHER ON SUPER BOWL SUNDAY?

Patriots Total Points scored -140

Russell Westbrook Points scored EVEN

NB: Russell Westbrook Points scored. Rusty is averaging 31 point per game and he is playing the Blazers on Sunday, who are an absolute sieve on defense. These are great odds in my opinion.

RH: Russell Westbrook Points scored. Not sure why the odds have Westbrook as the underdog here, but this could be as close to stealing as you can find in Vegas.
